The good news for Manchester City is that Vincent Kompany is back from suspension. The Belgium defender received a lengthy ban for his challenge during City’s FA Cup defeat to Manchester United earlier in January.

He eventually had to miss his team’s crucial game against Tottenham Hotspur on January 22. The Citizens conceded 2 goals in this encounter but still went on to win thanks to a late winner from their controversial Italian striker, Mario Balotelli.

In 12 away matches, Manchester City have allowed 12 goals. Their defensive record must improve and Micah Richards is simply delighted to have Kompany back:

“He has played well in the big games and is a leader so it will be amazing to have him back and we can't wait to play with him again. I am sure when he comes back he will give 110% and help us back to winning ways.”

Well, Manchester City aren’t doing badly in the English Premier League. They won their last 3 fixtures after commencing the year with a 1-0 loss away to Sunderland.

They had a quiet weekend, though, since they are no more in the FA Cup. How well will they use the fitness advantage over the Toffees who beat Fulham at the weekend?
